Braque Francais Puppies Collection

2011 Braque Francais Puppies:

Along with our wonderful little brown flushing dogs, we also have two superb pointing dogs.  The Braque Francais (which originate from the Pyrenees Mountains) are named Niccalette de Grand Ciel and As Du Mont Caugts… both are great hunting dogs.

New Braque Francais Puppies:

We had been doing a bit of reading about the Braque Francais breed and their wonderful temperaments and smaller size. We were fortunate enough to find Brad and Julie Boisen (Grand Ciel Lodge), and got Nicca in 2002.  Nicca has been a wonderful retriever since the time we got her as a puppy.  She doesn’t run as big as some of the other pointing breeds, which is really nice. She’s also not as hard-headed as some can be… she really aims to please. I have to say, it can be a real treat to take Nicca out hunting and have my limit of Sharptail Grouse, before my husband! Nicca loves to hunt upland birds, but seems to especially like the Sharptails.

White And Brown Braque Francais Puppies:

In 2005, Brad Boisen imported three Braques from France.  We were fortunate to get As at that time.  He was about a year old and a really sweet dog.  When hunting season came around he really showed us how fortunate we were to have gotten him.  He has a superb nose and is tremendous in the field.  While he’s quite passive at home, he’s a real worker when he’s out in the field.  Although pointing dogs are not always very good with handling pheasants, As has proven that he’s more than capable of pinning those wily roosters.

Background of the Braque Francais:
The Braque Francais is a French pointing dog that is well-known in France and other parts of Europe, and is promoted by enthusiasts in Canada and the US. The Braque Francais, which translates to French Pointer in English, is an ancient breed. It is a direct descendant of the very first pointing dog, the Spanish Pointer. The Braque Francais first became established in the Pyrenees Mountains of southern France and later spread throughout France. The breed not only contributed to all of the French pointing breeds such as the Braque du Bourbonnais, but is also contributed to all of the shorthaired dogs of Continental Europe.

Latest Braque Francais Puppies:

Braque Francais (French Pointer-Pyrenese) Puppies due early March, ready to go early May. Currently taking $150. deposits for pick (in order received). This is a truly versatile breed of gun dog – upland birds, waterfowl, tracking and retrieving. Smaller and more compact than the German Shorthair and with a temperament more like a Lab. Love to please, easy to train and live with. Wonderful family dogs in the home yet real go-getters in the field. A pleasure for the walking bird hunter to work with.
Both our Dam and Sire are NAVHDA prized dogs from NAVHDA Breeder’s award kennels and champion bloodlines. Our sire’s mom is a descendant of European Coupe Champion, Homere du Mas du Diable, and his dad, Uron Des Becassieres De Guillaume, is a North American Versatile Champion 2009. They are both registered with the Canadian Kennel Club (CKC) which recognizes the breed. We have their pedigrees going back five generations available.
